Checks an IBAN and, when it's valid, returns its country, BIC code, and bank name. Use it to verify a recipient's bank details before you create the recipient.
Spaces are stripped and letters are upper-cased before the check, so iban in the response is the normalized value. bank_name can be null if the IBAN is valid but its bank isn't in Mamo's bank list.
An invalid IBAN is not an errorA well-formed request always returns
200 OK. An invalid IBAN comes back withvalid: false. In that casecountry_code,bic_code, andbank_nameare left out and anerrorsarray is included instead:{ "iban": "AE0700000000000000000000", "valid": false, "errors": ["bad_check_digits"] }
Possible errors values:
| Value | Meaning |
|---|---|
too_short | Fewer than 5 characters |
bad_chars | Contains characters other than letters and digits |
unknown_country_code | The country prefix is not one Mamo supports |
bad_length | Wrong length for that country |
bad_bban_format | The account part doesn't match that country's format |
bad_check_digits | The check digits don't match |
Leaving out iban returns a validation error.
